Secure, collaborative access to data
HP Remote Graphics Software (RGS) is an advanced connection software that allows you to access and share the desktop of a remote computer over a standard network. You can share your desktop in real time with others, or access a desktop from a remote location, with all the same functionality as being there. Things like spinning, zooming, and model creation happen with amazing speed.

HP RGS provides users with new paradigms such as working on a work computer from home; setting up remote sites, but keeping workstations local; and holding training with the teacher seeing all the students desktops on one screen. HP Z Workstations, powered by Intel® Xeon® and Intel® Core™ processors, are optimized to enable you to get the most out of HP RGS.

Using HP RGS, you can collaborate in real-time by enabling secure access to 2D, 3D, and rich multimedia applications and data. Key features include:

  • Remote desktop functionality delivers smooth, continuous, low-latency, high-quality desktop streams from remote systems, continuously updated at very high rates.
  • Sender resolution and display auto-adjust automatically sets the sending system resolution and multi-display settings to match the receiving system for full desktop interaction.
  • Multiple simultaneous sender sessions can be accessed from a single receiver.

With HP RGS, all applications run natively on the remote computer and take full advantage of the compute and graphics resources of the sending system. Here’s how it works:

  • Sender software captures the desktop of the remote system and transmits it over a standard network to a window on a local client using HP’s patented compression technology.
  • Receiving system uses software that captures input from the user’s keyboard, mouse, microphone, and USB devices and transmits it back to the sending desktop for processing.
  • HP RGS allows you to access one or many multi-display workstations from a network-attached client using a single sign-on.
