ATHENA is a complete software package, offering practically everything to simplify the daily design tasks which confront the curtainwall designer:

2D Design

2D drawing functions are tuned for the rapid production of details and elevation drawings, plan views and workshop drawings. Features particularly promoting productivity are the numerous small aids, such as for example, routines for semi-finished items, membranes, thermal insulation, panels or welded seams and the comprehensive standard parts library with 75,000 parts or the tools for managing materials, layers and blocks. A special advantage is that all ATHENA objects are intelligent ARX objects and can be edited with a double click!

3D Design

The 3D design is used for the free planning of complicated geometries, such as for example, sloping polygon facades, pyramids, glazed roofs, bays, etc. To achieve this, profiles or profile groups are placed over the axes of a wire model. Cut parts can be automatically computed and the components (e.g. profiles) are output with the cut parts in a parts list or in a drawing. Dedicated master data can be created, containing the profile geometries, material properties, design rules or requirements from production. The 3D design takes into account profile groups, cut parts, processes, sheet metal, glazing and also hardware. It can be displayed as a 3D view, 2D view and through any sections. The extracts can be output as parts lists or as production drawings. An interface to PPC/ERP, also to machines, is available.

Metal Sheet editing

ATHENA now contains a complete metal sheet editing program for the quicker design of sheets with the associated developments. Our contribution to increased productivity during sheet design comprises clearly laid-out dialog boxes for the input of basic sheet data and processes, a 3D viewer for continuous visual checks and versatile options for the import and export of drawing data.

Engineering

Always on the safe side: The calculation functions for the structural analysis and building physics in ATHENA are established tools for preliminary dimensioning during the design process. You can, for example, find the center of gravity, planar moment of inertia or section modulus, deflection, thermal resistance or sound insulation level. Or you can carry out thermal-hygro analyses (isothermal calculations). In this way thermal bridges can be eliminated already during the design stage.

The integration of WoodEngine inside AutoCAD Architectural allows the user to share the same single 3D model for the different building steps. The complete structure, foundations, walls, floors and roofs can be modified at any time.

The Log module uses a wizard to create log home buildings in any shape of log, automatic from the architectural wall input. The right assembly is set automatically according to the walls intersection. Extra machinings (Cuts, Bolts, Grooves …) can be added quickly and easily.

The Timber Frame wall wizard works with user defined styles. Intelligent variants in detail design are drag and drop from the tool palette (Extremities, Lintels, Beam Pockets, Openings …). The panels 2D Manufacturing drawings are made quickly and with automatic dimensioning.

The Floor module helps the user to frame floors and their different components (Joists, Decking, Hangers…) according to his personal rules and knowledge. Floors properties can be impacted directly by the walls types (Load bearing, Internal …).

The flexible tool box for carpentry joints allow an intuitive and efficient application of machining (Saw cuts, Dovetails, Take off, Markings, Free profiling of ends,etc.) on any piece.

The integrated CNC generator creates machine control files for a wide range of automated production machinery (Hundegger, Weinmann, Randek, Schmidler,Bostitch…).
